Acton Yard Crossrail Works: Information Bulletin
(Saturday 10 August – Friday 6 September 2013)

Saturday 17 August to Friday 23 August Sunday -Thursday (00.00 – 06.00) Piling to the west of Noel Road Bridge, opposite Oakley Avenue. This involves vibrating steel piles into the ground and may generate limited noise and vibration. This method is considerably quieter than traditional hammer piling.

Monday to Friday (08.00 – 18.00) Saturday (08.00 – 18.00) Sunday (09.00 – 18.00) Piling for diveunder: This involves drilling into the ground to form the foundations for the diveunder structure. The technique used is a continuous drill rather than a hammering process which will reduce noise & vibration to neighbours. Work is taking place to the east and directly beneath Noel Road Bridge. Vibratory sheet piling will also continue in the day time to the west of Noel Road bridge.

Monday to Friday (08.00 – 18.00) Saturday (08.00 – 13.00) Works by the tracks opposite Oakley House. Will include the construction of a shaft, material delivery and the removal of excavated material.
Night-time (23.55 -05.00) Overhead line cable works will take place during week nights along the track. Residents may notice machinery on the track

Saturday 24 August to Friday 30 August CONTINGENCY: Sunday (00.01 -10.00) Piling for overhead line equipment by Noel Road Bridge and to the west opposite Oakley Avenue. This involves driving tubular steel piles into the ground and is likely to generate some hammering noise and possible vibration.

From Tuesday 27 August (24 hours a day for approximately 2 weeks) Works at Oakley House: Tunnelling will start as part of the siphon diversion works under the diveunder. Tunnelling machine will start from north of the tracks, working 24 hours a day under the tracks towards Oakley House.

Saturday 31 August to Friday 6 September Sunday (00.01 – 9.00) Piling for overhead line equipment from Horn Lane Bridge on the tracks opposite Lynton Road. This involves driving tubular steel piles into the ground and is likely to generate some hammering noise and possible vibration.

Monday to Friday (08.00 – 18.00) Saturday (08.00 – 18.00) Sunday (09.00 – 18.00) Piling for diveunder to the east and directly beneath Noel Road Bridge: This involves drilling into the ground to form the foundations for the diveunder structure. All week 24 hours a day Works at Oakley House: Tunnelling under the tracks towards Oakley House. The breakthrough at Oakley House will be timed to ensure it occurs during daytime hours
